New Website Offers Help for Career Changers

Site shares common goals with VocationVacations and Brian Kurth + Company

Looking for resources to help you navigate your path to a new career? What’s Next is a new “one-stop” information center for individuals thinking about or actively pursuing a new career. Geared toward the “40 – 60 something” generation, this site offers a variety of information and tools – profiles of career changers; how-to guides; job transition and retirement financial planning advice; help in finding an advisor and access to tools like self-assessment tests.

“Our goal is to attract a large targeted audience of men and women interested in a career change and connect them with services, resources and a social network of others with similar pursuits,” explains the president of What’s Next, Mark Gleason. “To accomplish this, we are building partnerships with others doing interesting things to support people who are making career changes.” Partners like VocationVacations and Brian Kurth + Company.

Mentorship is at the core of VocationVacations and the career consulting philosophy of Brian Kurth + Company and is endorsed by What’s Next. “The concept of internships and hands-on experience is just as relevant at 40, 50 or 60 as it is for college students and recent graduates,” believes Gleason. “Both mentoring and career coaching are key ingredients in executing a career transition.”

Brian couldn’t agree more. “Changing careers requires a leap of faith. However, that leap can be a lot less frightening if you have gained real insights into your new career through a mentor and have had the benefit of a third party advisor who can help you see the big picture and how to get from ‘point A to point B’.” The additional resources and information available on What’s Next complements this approach to making a successful career transition.

So, if you want to turn “what’s next?” into a statement of purpose rather than a question and use knowledge to reduce your fears, check out this new website. There’s no time like the present!
